Toddler Playsongs
I have had so many emails from readers raving about this music group. I’m always looking for lovely music groups for my toddler so I wanted to share this with you – in their own words.
Award-winning community musicians Nickie Fidgin and Gill Bough (aka Playsongs Plus) have been singing merrily with parents and the under 5s for over 15 years and their fun live-music Playsongs groups across Dorset have long since become the highlight of many a family’s week.
Gill is a multi-talented, intuitive pianist and guitarist who seems remarkably adept at playing while several toddlers are attempting to ‘help’ her. Whereas Nickie is somewhat of a Pied Piper character, as the children positively flock to her and follow her through each of the songs … with actions, puppets, props, wacky sound effects and great instruments which all the children can play.
During school holidays, this dynamic duo perform at local live music festivals and work closely with the Dorset Children’s Centres, supporting young parents groups and running interactive sessions at Family Fun Days.
Two beautifully illustrated CDs are available for purchase online: their lullaby CD, Hush-a-Bye, can often be heard floating from bedroom windows at dusk; while their most recent album, Rosie the Little Red Car, has become a real must for car journeys!
