Winter weather can wreak havoc on our skin. Cold, harsh winds when you venture out, followed by central heating in our houses, can confuse skin and leave it dry, dull and in need of saving. This can result in fine lines and wrinkles, especially around the eyes, just at the time of year when you want your skin to looks its best for the Christmas party season. Here two expert skin care specialists Theresa Fleetwood and Angela Langford give you some top tips to ensure your skin looks its best this winter.
• Feed your skin
What you eat affects how your skin looks, and when your skin is under attack from late nights and rich, acidifying food and drink, it quickly shows on your face. First of all, try to rebalance this by increasing your daily intake of vegetables as much as you can, especially in their raw form so that you extract the maximum nutrients from them, which helps to alkalize the body and restore it to health.
A daily home-made vegetable juice is the simplest way to do this. Your immunity is also important for your skin health at this time of year, so think about taking a daily probiotic supplement to optimize gut immunity, the basis of your overall immunity.
• Take some time out for you
During this busy and stressful time you need to recharge your batteries and your skin. One of the latest non-surgical skin treatments, the ClearLift 4D Laser Facelift, stimulates collagen production, producing a lifted, smoother skin with increased volume. Known as the lunchtime facial, it provides an immediate improvement with no downtime, making it the perfect treatment for the party season.
• Stick to your skincare routine
Despite the late nights, don’t forget your skincare routine. It is especially important during the winter party season to take off your make-up at night and apply your skincare products, so that your skin is fully replenished when you wake up, giving you a fresh-faced appearance.
Angela Langford, natural organic skin care creator comments:
“Incorporating a rich and nourishing night balm could see your skin looking fresher and more revitalized for longer. At night our skin is more receptive and using a nourishing night balm can help with regeneration and repair. Whilst you sleep your skin redirects its energy into repairing daily damage and rebuilding its collagen and elastin support structures, which help maintain that youthful look! Boost your night-time cellular activity with a product that contains a mix of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and skin loving omegas. Look out for ingredients including skin-brightening and radiance-restoring Avocado. Oils like Argan, Pumpkin & Mullein all help to firm and tone the skin, boosting elasticity and improving softness. Rich and nourishing nut oils and butters including Macadamia, Shea & Cocoa keep skin supple, soften your skin and heal damage. Finally antioxidants and vitamins including electric daisies, Q10 and Vitamins A & E help brighten, nourish, firm your skin as well as preventing further damage. A night balm can help to replace dull and lack lustre skin with healthy, glowing radiant skin that feels soft and smooth.”

• Drink lots of water and add some healthy oils
Start your day with a cup of hot water and lemon to rehydrate and detoxify, and to boost your mind and body. During the evening, if you can drink a glass of water between each alcoholic drink, your skin and head will thank you in the morning! Skin hydration also depends on the presence of oils within the skin cells, enabling them to hold on to water, so try to include healthy oils from olives, avocado, and coconut in your diet.
• Put the moisture back
