My fashion style currently revolves mainly around boots, long jumpers and scarves. I only wish I had an ounce of the style and fashion confidence that Trisha O’Bryan oozes, who recently launched Vintage 2 Vogue, a pre-loved fashion house just on the outskirts of Stockbridge, Hampshire. This could very well be the answer to my fashion faux pas’.
Trisha has been an avid follower of fashion all her life and her passion for it shows no sign of letting up, this gives her a unique and eclectic range of fashion pieces, to which she has a flare to show off herself. I’m sure I am not alone in wishing I had the panache and confidence to mix and match key pieces with vintage items to create a look that oozes style, cool and certainly has that exclusive feel.
The new store has a mix of pre-loved and vintage ladies fashion from shoes, bags, throws and dresses for evening and day wear. Most labels will be designer and sourced from capitals around the globe however in addition to her own stock, Trisha operates a split commission system so if you have any designer clothes that you wish to sell, now you can, safe in the knowledge that they are being shown to genuine buyers and are looked after in a relaxed, comfy setting in the Turner & Thom premise at the Sandydown Estate (much better that you toiling over an online auction in our opinion!)
The store is even set up to host group bookings, whereby a group of mums, friends or associates can book a set time for you to have private and elite trying on sessions. Even refreshments can be supplied if required. Trisha has an eye that can also re-vamp the simplest of clothes making them into custom-made pieces that is sure to wow shoppers. As I chat to Trisha she shows me how she has given what was quite a basic skirt a completely new personality and by booking a session she can pass on her style techniques too. Invaluable.
A visit to Vintage 2 Vogue is a must before Christmas especially if you are looking for a wow dress to the works do or even just a new statement piece for the festive season over New Year.
In addition to the fashion house, you will find a plethora of exceptional items in the Turner & Thom premise where renowned Margaret Turner shows off her amazing bespoke jewellery which will compliment any of the designer dresses on show. Her son Thom also showcases some of his signature furniture with glass encased shrub sideboard, antique sculpture, statues and Gaudi inspired side table and drawers. With more planned for 2015, keep an eye on Turner & Thom too.
For something a little different, a trip to Sandydown off the A30 from Stockbridge to Winchester is Country Child’s recommendation of the season.
