Hopefully the weather will be getting a little brighter by the weekend! So here is our roundup of things to do this weekend in and around Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire and Hampshire.
Friday 11th March
British Science Week officially starts today. Emerson Green Library in Bristol are doing ‘Weird Science’ days all week starting from today. ‘Science In the Park’ is taking place at Paultons Park in Hampshire and you can see 3D printing in action at Cadbury Heath Library in Bristol.

Salisbury Foodie Friday is on today – set aside the boring lunch box and come and sample some of the best food on offer from across the South with live music throughout the day.
The theme for Under 5s Friday at Salisbury Museum is Mad March Hares, a fun morning of colouring and making inspired by the work of sculptor Sophie Ryder.
Saturday 12th March
Today is National Plant a Flower Day! So if you just fancy keeping it simple participate by planting a flower in your garden! And don’t forget to share your pictures with us on our Facebook and Twitter pages!
Southampton Science and Engineering festival is on today with a range of activities for all ages.
Light Theatre present The Magic Beanstalk at The Pamela Pambro Hall, Winterbourne,Stickland. The tale of Jack and the Beanstalk set in present day Cornwall featuring hand carved puppets. Tickets are £6 for adults, £5 for under 18s and a family ticket is £20. For more details see their website.
Wiltshire Museum in Devises has their Saturday club for kids ages 7-14 who are interested in archaeology and history 10.15-12.15am every second Saturday of the month
