Country Child's Mothers Day Spa List 2020

When it comes to the ideal Mothers Day gift, we believe many Mums might say a ‘day off please!’ And then laugh as the chance of this happening is likely to be fairly remote. But, if Mum could in fact get a day away from the usual day to day tasks such as food shopping, ironing, cooking, cleaning, school run, after-school-club run and the like, we think the ideal gift for Mothers Day for 2020 would be a spa day.

This could be with Dad or other Mum’s, maybe a ‘mother-daughter’ day for any ages. It is just the best way to take time out from family HQ.

So here’s our tried and tested Country Child Mothers Day Spa List guide for 2020 - plus there still time to buy a voucher or better still get it booked in the diary. We promise, Mum’s will always be forever grateful, so get clicking through the links to grab your loved ones a luxurious day off!

Fantasy Forest Fun
AQUASANA LONGLEAT - Centre Parcs, Warminster, Wiltshire

Newly relaunched for 2020, the £6m investment at the popular Centre Parcs resort, Longleat has transformed the site and now sees an influx of visitors to its monumental offering of a total 24 spa experiences. Jo says:

Harnessing the theory behind forest bathing it is easy to see the many nature inspired experiences on offer here. Showcasing the changing seasons, rainforest showers, hot springs, and ice caves with scandi hygge featuring heavily, you will not fail to find a spot to curl up in and fully relax.

This has to be due to the limit allowance the resort operates, ensuring resort guests get access at any time but also now the newly invited external guests can benefit from the capacity cap which gives you a sense of exclusivity.

The calming music that trickles out everywhere sets the scene, teamed with natural stone, bare wood, soft blankets and the contrast of senses with warm, scented steam rooms and saunas plus a cool forest immersion, leaves you stimulated, refreshed and soothed.

The spa has also introduced two brand-new experiences which are exclusive to Aqua Sana Longleat Forest – the Forest Cavern and Moonlight Steam Room plus it now includes 24 treatment rooms, a pre-treatment lounge and a post-treatment relaxation area. So consider a treatment or two from well-known product houses, Elemis and Decléor. A skin consultation is a must do!

The overhaul has also been extended to the Vitalé Café Bar where you can enjoy a scrumptious lunch, snack or some bubbles in the completely transformed space that brings the outside in with an abundance of foliage giving an insight into the rich woodland setting.

Get Mum back to nature and be quick, spaces are limited.

Boutique Beauty
CHARLTON HOUSE SPA HOTEL - Shepton Mallet, Somerset

This old estate has been renovated and extended by its partner chain Bannatyne’s and it delivers on every level. Jo says:

Simply a great size, eastern influenced theme and packs a punch for such a small outfit.

The moment you arrive you are greeted with grandeur and bags of character. Staff are always eager to please at every stage of your visit and the facilities keep coming too. The hydrotherapy pool is always warm and allows you the opportunity to swim outside if you need a refreshing blast of country air. Hop out for a moment and dip right back in to the spacious covered al fresco jacuzzi where the bubbles will melt away any stresses or strains. For more treats, head inside to the aroma filled Laconium, shower experiences, crystal steam room, Finnish sauna and ice fountain to complete your spa experience.

My favourite place here is to relax after a dip in one of the booths, big enough for two or more. Popular with couples or for small groups of Mums. Grab a package deal for lunch or afternoon tea, or why not stay the night in one of their infamous designed hotel rooms with mezzanine bathrooms. I can’t stay away!

Local Hotspot
ANA SPA - The Holiday Inn, Winchester, Hampshire

When looking to take some ‘time out’ from the craziness of every day life, a local spa visit is surely going to feature fairly high up on the Wish List. And it’s just not difficult to see why. Miranda says:

_ANA SPA Vitality:Hydrotherapy Pool ARF0294.jpg

As I stepped through the doors of Ana Spa at the Holiday Inn in Winchester, it was like the de-stress button had been pressed somewhere from within; my shoulders relaxed, my mind slowed and I felt ready to enjoy a few, blissful child-free hours.

The staff were, without exception, absolutely brilliant; accommodating, helpful, super-friendly and attentive to my needs. I opted for a facial and my only regret is that it didn’t last all day; beautiful Elemis products nurtured my dry, winter skin and smelt utterly divine – I think I floated out of the treatment room following Sophie’s magical head massage.

The two-course lunch was delicious, with a pleasant selection of dishes on the menu catering for a range of dietary requirements. I chose the soup followed by one of the best Cesar salads I’ve ever had the pleasure to devour – compliments to the chef!
Following lunch, I made my way to the spa, opting for a foot spa followed by a relaxing stint in the hydrotherapy pool. Had I been feeling slightly more energetic, I could have shed some calories in the spa’s well-equipped gym. Instead I lay back on one of the cosy loungers in the Relaxation room and indulged in my book…until it was time to return to normality and head home to iron the children’s uniforms and tackle long division with my oldest. Ana Spa, thank you and I will return.

Hilton Heaven
DOUBLETREE by HILTON - The Oxford Belfry, Oxfordshire

Centrally located in Oxfordshire, this can be a fantastic place to escape to. Jo says:

You know where you are with Hilton hospitality and this remote central hotspot is a great offering for families to congregate. Not far from Oxford, meet up with friends, siblings and mum from around the UK and take some much needed time out.

Package deals offer you all you need from treatments, gym, spa use, dinner, breakfast and even accommodation. You can even bring the dog.

For a quick treat at reasonable prices, give it a go.
