Calling all stargazers or anyone with a fascination with stars, planets or astronomy. Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), which is seeking International Dark Sky Reserve status, is hosting ‘Star Fest’, a weekend of family-friendly, space-themed events and activities from 22-24 February in Sixpenny Handley.
For anyone space-obsessed or for those looking to learn more about the sky at night, look no further.
Events on offer include:
- Space Detectives: interactive space workshops with Jo Richardson, UK Space Ambassador, Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society
- Planetarium: a family-friendly show for all ages
- Face painting
- Stargazing with the Wessex Astronomical Society
- Astrophotography presentations
Star Fest takes place at Church Farm Caravanning & Camping Park, High Street, Sixpenny Handley, Dorset SP5 5ND. Events and activities start at 18.00 on Friday 22 February and again at 10.00 on Saturday 23 February and Sunday 24 February.
