Blackmore Vale Inn, Marnhull, Dorset
For those wet, cold dark days, the Blackmore Vale Inn is the perfect pub to visit with children.
Relax beside a large open fire in this 250 year-old pub, which was named Rollivers in Tess of The D’Urbevilles, while the children entertain themselves with the selection of puzzles and Where’s Wally books on offer.
Listed number 16 in The Times “Best 50 places to eat in the countryside”, the children’s menu has been cleverly put together with mix and match food options which would appeal to even the fussiest of children.
Gregg and Sarah Noble have run the pub since 2006 and are extremely welcoming to families. During the snow last winter, Gregg offered hot chocolate topped with marshmallows to all those families on their way back from tobogganing nearby.
Take away fish ‘n’ chips now available every Friday.
