The weather may have been overcast on Saturday but that didn’t stop thousands of people visiting the Romsey Show this weekend, including one half of the Country Child team and family. The Country Child t-shirt’s were put on by all members of the family, teamed with Wellington Boots, small picnic and off we went. The last time I visited the show was some 10 years ago and you could see the whole show from the entrance gates. I thought it would be a similar event, how I was wrong. It has grown so much, so many more arenas with events nearly ever hour from horse and cart displays, show jumping, dressage, ferret racing, dog agility, llama and dog ‘best in show’ competitions, the animals are always a favourite for us. However the tents are packed too with rural organisations and traders, a blessing when the odd showering of rain descended. My two year old particularly liked the Kids Kitchen tent, where they could make their own smoothie, sticky, messy fun! However hubby seemed to drink more of it than the toddler! We met many new customers and readers and some that had levitated over from our home county Dorset; Sixpenny Brewery and O’Hagan’s Sausages. Obviously the produce was sampled, IPA Pint followed by IPA Sausage roll (should have really been the other way round), topped with three different pickles, scrumptious! We were also introduced to some very important children’s charities which we will be working with soon, however for more information on what they are all about visit: www.honeypot.org.uk and www.bensheroestrust.org Any donations would be truly amazing. Here are a few photos from the day and don’t forget to keep sending in your photos from what ever you are doing this Autumn, our favourites will be published in the Winter edition!
