Taking inspiration from The Great Bath Feast and wanting to share the incredible enthusiasm for local and seasonal produce, Kilver Court would like to introduce ‘The Great Spelt Breakfast’. Throughout October they will be offering a new, delicious spelt infused breakfast menu served in their Sharpham Park Pantry Restaurant 9:30-11am.
Spelt is an ancient grain which was cultivated by earlier civilizations such as Mesopotamian in the Middle East around 9000 years ago. In Britain it is first known to have existed as a main crop in 2000 BC. A cross between Emmer wheat and Goats grass, it has a delicious, distinctive, naturally nutty flavour and a unique yet pleasing texture. Unlike common wheat, spelt has not been hybridised or chemically altered, and it remains as pure and healthy as it was when it was first introduced.
It is a known fact that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and a low GI spelt breakfast is the best way to start your morning! It has great slow release energy and should enable you to power through the day without craving any sweet snacks.
Choose from a variety of enticing options such as a bowl of healthy fresh fruit, a rustic twist on a full English or spelt buttermilk pancakes which have always been a firm favourite in the Saul household of a morning.
