We hope you have been enjoying your Easter Holidays with your family. As the last weekend approaches, here are our picks of what to see and do to finish off the holiday fun!
Friday 8th April
Have you been over to Haynes International Motor Museum yet? Over the Easter Holidays they are running a kids’ bunny trail, the museum will be filled with delights for children, young and old to discover. Returning this year is their springtime baby bunny trail: grab a trail sheet and challenge your navigational skills. “Eggsplore” the museum to find all the soft toy creatures hiding around the exhibitions and earn a chocolatey and sweetie prize. Normal admission fees apply.
This weekend Forum Drama are putting on ‘The Railway Children’ in conjunction with the Performing Arts Theatre Academy at the Corn Exchange Blandford. Shows are Friday at 7.30pm, and Saturday 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 for all performances and under 16s are completely FREE.
Saturday 9th April
All this weekend Studland Bay has an Easter Egg Hunt along the beach and through the nature reserve and collect your chocolate prize at the end. 10- 3pm. £2.50 per child.
From 11am, as part of The Dolman’s Spring Pirate Parlay, a pirate re-enactment weekend, there will be a Pirates Parade through the Weymouth town (Hope Square) with drummers and pipers, followed by the crowning of a Pirate Queen & then Pirate Duels where all the assembled pirates fight for the hand of their new Queen until only one remains standing ! A day of swords pistols and muskets. Take the ids along to watch the action and meet the cutthroats up close and personal and have their pictures taken with them.
10-4pm today at the Learning Centre, Durlston Country Park have their Fossil Discovery Day today, see local fossils from our Jurassic coast. Uncover your very own fossils and get creative by painting your own plaster cast ammonite and making replicas of trilobites and dinosaur foot prints. Donations welcome.
Sunday 10th April
You could visit the Tank Museum in Bovington – they have plenty of exhibitions to visit over easter they have a new exhibition: the first crews, vehicle rides every day, first world war themed family activities, an outdoor and indoor play area and cafe!
Today is the last day of Marwell Zoo‘s Big Bird Bonanza, go equipped with your binoculars to their Big Bird Bonanza. Enjoy their penguin talk, meet the biggest to the smallest of their birds and discover which bird lays the biggest egg! Find out more about the world of birds through our Discovery Tables and make a bird treat for the wild birds in your garden plus lots more.
Finkley Down Farm, Andover also have Easter holiday activities on until the end of today. Easter holidays are a great time to visit with so many baby animals to see, lambs, micro pigs, calves, chicks and baby rabbits. They have a fun packed day of animal activities throughout the day. Look out for the Mad Hatter and the Easter Bunny who will be appearing each day. Join in the Easter Egg Hunts and follow the Easter Trail to win a prize. There is also the indoor play barn and sheep racing and pony rides take place every day.
