The Orchard Awards At Knighton House School

Knighton House School Dorset announce their Orchard Awards and explain why….

The balance between work and play has always been a tricky thing to manage for everyone;

both adults and children alike. Within today’s busy society, it is incredibly difficult to generate a healthy combination of the two, and this is becoming a significant concern for the younger generation in particular.

With schools under ever-increasing pressure…

to fit a growing number of elements into already full schedules and to put children second to curriculum demands, it is not unfair to say that the positivity and ‘fun’ aspect of learning and all it has to offer, has taken somewhat of a backseat in recent years.

Children thrive when they are at-one with nature and the outside World…

Children thrive when they are at-one with nature and the outside World…

Knighton House School in Dorset has come up with a fantastic method to try and manage this issue…

It is launching two new 100% bursary awards to local children in Reception and Year 1. The Orchard Awards – named after the School’s pre-prep – will give local boys and girls the full benefit of an Orchard education in Years 1 and 2. The school itself is based in 30 acres of glorious Dorset countryside which provides the perfect environment for learning; both inside and outside the classroom. Children are able to experience the outside world first-hand, and reap the benefits of all it has to offer.
