Roadshow Event for Deaf Children with Cochlear Implants

The National Deaf Children’s Society Roadshow will visit Newbury on Sunday, November 10th to hold a dedicated event for deaf children with cochlear implants.

It will take place at Mary Hare School and is being run for the Cochlear Implanted Children’s Support Group; an independent, voluntary group run by parents. The group was set to help other parents whose deaf children already have cochlear implants or are considering them.

The Roadshow, an eight ton lorry that turns into a high-tech classroom, tours the UK raising awareness of childhood deafness and the support available to deaf children and young people.

The Roadshow team will offer workshops, practical advice and a demonstration of the latest equipment available to deaf children and young people, including flashing smoke alarms, vibrating alarm clocks and hearing technology.
