Fitness expert and local Aldershot mum, Jemima Tulloch, is bringing a top US exercise concept and parents’ community to Aldershot, with the launch of SLAM (Sweat Like a Mother) fitness classes. SLAM, which originated in the US as Stroller Strong Mums, provides a unique, fun and challenging full-body workout and what is unique is that mums can bring their babies and toddlers along in their buggies and they are integrated into the exercises through music and games.Class run for one hour and consist of moving between 10-15 minute ‘stations’ of intense circuit exercises with the babies and toddlers stationed alongside, finishing with a core workout and stretching. If a child starts crying during the class there is no pressure to carry on. The classes will be held at Aldershot Park with a meeting point in front of the cricket club, and if it rains, the classes will be held in the Princes Hall Theatre, Aldershot. Free trial classes will run from 9.30-10.30 on 28, 29 and 30 August; thereafter classes cost £5 each, £45 for a 10 class pass, or £35 for an unlimited monthly pass. The official launch event takes place at 9.30 on Monday 2 September and will be a really fun class, followed by a party with SLAM freebies and other goodies. Classes will then be held every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the same time and place.
