The ancient market town of Malmesbury has been home to a Carnival for nearly 100 years, and the heart of Carnival is still the procession, which this year is on the 31st August starting from 6pm onward. The route is up through the town and is always lined with enthusiastic and generous spectators, enjoying the spectacle and invention of the local participants and the wonderful marching bands.
